Environmental Policy

Symphony recognises a responsibility to help its customers make the most environmentally positive purchasing decisions within the limits of current knowledge and to act itself in an environmentally aware manner.

Objectives

  1. To supply the least environmentally damaging products.
  2. To purchase and sell products which have been recycled, are reusable or are degradable.
  3. To seek out new environmentally sound products and encourage early introduction.
  4. To publicise our environmental policy to our customers.
  5. To pursue certification of environmental standards.
  6. To meet all requirements of relevant environmental legislations.
  7. To seek and reduce excess packaging.
  8. To reduce internal waste by recycling or increase efficiency.

Actions

To reduce the impact of Symphony's activities on the environment by:

  1. Purchasing low energy consuming lighting, computers, office equipment, electrical equipment and machinery.
  2. Encouraging Officers of the Company to purchase the most energy efficient vehicles.
  3. Making available refills or reuse products as many times as possible.
  4. Promoting paperless administration systems, e.g. EDI, CRM systems, the internet.
  5. Reducing repackaging by changing the unit of issue to manufacturers' pack size, where appropriate, and encouraging customers to purchase in those units.
